Description of Duties

Type of Position: Full-time (benefits & parking)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Reports to: Executive Vice President

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

✓ Increase the membership numbers in the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce
✓ Increase revenue dollars by securing sponsorships for Chamber events, such as the
Annual Meeting, Awards Luncheon, Golf Classic, Health Care Regional Breakfast, and
more.
✓ Increase the membership retention rate for existing members.
✓ Manage and oversee the needs of existing members and identify opportunities for
members to promote their company’s goals and engage in Chamber programs and
events.
Additional Responsibilities
✓ Attend weekly sales and staff meetings
✓ Attend monthly membership committee meetings
✓ Staff up to 2 Councils and 2 Leads Groups
✓ Attend all major GNHCC events and monthly Morning Mingle and Business After
Hours events
Qualifications Needed for this Position:
✓ Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a diverse group of people
✓ Excellent oral and written communication skills
✓ Ability to interact with all members of the Chamber in a professional manner

✓ Ability to take initiative and work alone and in a team
✓ Ability to learn about and sell the Chambers’ services and products
✓ A Bachelor’s Degree
